M2 2280 Pro: a Thermalright SSD heatsink with a large heat pipe

M2 2280 Pro: a Thermalright SSD heatsink with a large heat pipe

At Thermalright, we will note the arrival of a small novelty with a new heatsink. This time, it’s not about CPU or GPU cooling, but about SSD. The manufacturer announces its M2 2280 Pro, a heatsink with a single 8mm heat pipe!

With its new heatsink, the brand tackles SSDs by cooling them as it should be. Since the time, you know the song, an M.2, it heats up, and if it gets too hot, it throttles, and the performance drops. For that, you have to cool it down. This is the problem that this new product answers.

For that, Thermalright, proposes an aluminum heatsink intended for SSD M.2 2280 as its reference indicates. It will then display dimensions of 75 (W) x 22.7 (D) x 11.7 (H) mm. Basically, this heatsink is made of aluminum, but displays a large nickel-plated copper heat pipe with a diameter of 8 mm. Normally, with this, the SSD should not heat up, far from it.

One ends logically not to speak about the price which amounts to about fifteen euros. As for the guarantee, it is announced to one year… Although we do not see how this type of solution could fail.

Here is the technical sheet of Thermalright !
