Meg Z590 Ace Gold & Unify : MSI launches its big motherboards!

Meg Z590 Ace Gold & Unify : MSI launches its big motherboards!

Some time ago, we were talking about a big motherboard signed MSI. Indeed, we can’t say that the MEG Z590 Ace Gold Edition is a small entry-level board, far from it. Well, you know what? MSI officially announces its launch.

MEG Z590 Ace Gold Edition & Unify : two high-end cards launched by MSI !

MSI MEG Z590 ACE Gold Edition

In broad terms, we are talking about a high-end card with a silver-gray color scheme and gold accents. The card comes in a standard ATX form factor with a Z590 chipset and a LGA-1200 socket.

As we told you last time, this is a card with a strong power supply. The latter displays 16 + 2 + 1 power phases with 90A mosfets. The same goes for the PCB with a circuit with 8 layers.

With this, we will have a very complete connectivity with three PCIe x16 ports, two of which are 4.0 standard. For storage, there are four M.2 ports, one of which is PCIe 4.0, while six SATA III ports complete the picture. We finish quickly at the back with the presence of two Thunderbolt 4 ports.

MEG Z590 Unify : the same, but more discreet !

MSI MEG Z590 Unify

The second card to be launched by the brand is none other than the MEG Z590 Unify, a model sharing the same format. However, it is a more discreet reference with an entirely black theme.

The other notable difference concerns the difference in connectivity between these two models. On this black version, we clearly lose in PCIe with a single port in x16 to the 4.0 standard. Moreover, it will be completed by two PCIe x1 3.0 and a last PCIe x4 3.0.

Roughly speaking, the storage part remains the same with the four M.2 slots. The first one will run in PCIe 4.0 x4 if you have an 11th generation Core i. However, the small difference will be in the next two ports that can also be run in PCIe 4.0 via a setting in the bios. Once again, you’ll need the right CPU.

On the power supply side, this model inherits the VRMs of the Gold version as well as its heat pipe cooling system. However, we note the loss of Thunderbolt 4 ports.

MEG Z590 Unify-X : made for overclocking !

MSI MEG Z590 Unify-X et Unify

It’s the one on the left that you should look at!

We finish briefly with the Unify-X which does not yet have a card published on the brand’s website. But visually, the card is very close to the Unify non-X. So, at first sight, the only difference with the model described above concerns the memory with only two DIMM slots against four. However, it is this difference that allowed the brand to push the HyperX Predator to 7200 MHz

The prices!

As for the price, unfortunately, we only know that of the Gold Edition. And as we said, this is not a small entry-level card, no way. This reference is already priced at over 600 € at Amazon France.

Here and there are the technical data sheets of MSI!
