MegaMax v2: a new series of three power supplies from Zalman!

With this new series, the brand offers us entry-level blocks. Here, there is no need to look for frills, there are none. As far as certification is concerned, we have the right to 80+ Basic, the lowest on the market. Then, the cables are not modular, the goal being to propose a low price.

In terms of characteristics, these models have power ratings of 500W, 600W and 700W. Then, inside, we have the right to a single 12V rail whose intensity varies according to the power of the block. Also, we find 105°C capacitors, a DC-to-DC design and an active PFC with a power factor of 98%.

On the electrical protection side, the brand highlights OVP, UVP, SCP and OPP. Finally, the cooling displays a mill type hydro-dynamic bearing in 120 mm.

Now, as far as connectivity is concerned, these three models offer more or less the same thing. Indeed, in all cases, we have a 24-pin ATX and a dual EPS12V CPU in 8 and 4 pins. The 700W version offers an 8-pin and a 4+4 pin. In terms of PCIe, the 500W and 600W models have two 6+2 pin connectors while the 700W model offers four. Finally, there are six SATA and four Molex and one floppy for the two largest models, while the 500W power supply has three Molex.

Finally, the prices are not known, nevertheless, we should not expect a high bill… Not in view of what Zalman offers.
