NH-U12S Redux: Noctua’s range officially launched!

NH-U12S Redux: Noctua’s range officially launched!

After teasing its Redux series, Noctua is now launching it officially. So, the NH-U12S Redux is born and we now have all the information about this heatsink. So, what will be the differences with the original U12S? We’ll break it down for you!

NH-U12S Redux: A more affordable U12S!

Noctua NH-U12S Redux With this new heatsink, the Austrian brand offers a more affordable version of its original U12S. This model has compact dimensions as evidenced by its 125 (W) x 71 (D) x 158 (H) mm including the fan. As for weight, this model is not particularly light, weighing in at 755g.

Compared to the U12S, the radiator is a bit different as it loses a heatpipe. With this Redux version, we go from 5 heatpipes to 4. However, it seems that this is the only difference with the original model, at least as far as the radiator is concerned.

Finally, it is at the level of the ventilation that we note a change of size. Indeed, the Austrian brand swaps its NF-F12 PWM for a NF-P12 Redux 1700 PWM. Here, the mill will work from 450 RPM to 1700 RPM generating, in passing, an air flow of 120,2 m3/h. As for the static pressure, it rises to 2.83 mmH2O.

Finally, we note the presence of a lightened accessory part. On the one hand there will be no syringe of thermal ant paste. The paste (from the NT-H1) is pre-applied on the base of the ventirad. Likewise, no second set of steel claws, low noise adapter or PWM splitter. If you want all these accessories, you will have to look for the NA-FK1 upgrade kit offering a second fan and all these accessories.

Finally, what about the price? With all these cuts, Noctua manages to lower its entry ticket by about twenty euros. The heatsink goes from €69.90 to €49.90 (official price). An interesting discount, especially when you consider the 6-year warranty or the presence of the SecuFirm2 mounting system. Finally, the NA-FK1 kit will cost you €16.90 and comes with a 6-year warranty.

This way to the Noctua datasheet!
