OK, but what is Reflex? To sum up simply, the principle is to reduce latency in games as much as possible, in other words, the time that elapses between the moment you click on the button of your mouse and its manifestation on the screen. The idea is thus to gain in reactivity and efficiency in an FPS for example. We will go into more detail in our file, but the graph above already allows you to understand the principle quite easily. Latency is something normal and unavoidable. The idea of NVIDIA, through its “Reflex” technology, is to reduce the duration of this latency, which is expressed in milliseconds. Here we are dealing more with the field of e-sport and competition, for which this type of optimisation can be a significant advantage. Several games are already compatible such as Apex Legends, Fortnite, Valorant, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Warzone but also the latest Cold War that we will most certainly use for our test. A screen and a mouse at Asus : Manufacturers have developed various peripherals capable of improving latency, particularly monitors and mice. We received an Asus ROG Swift PG259QNR display with a matt IPS 1080p panel that can reach 360 Hz via G-Sync. The special feature of this screen is the integration of a measurement tool called Reflex Latency Analyzer (RLA). Combined with the ROG Chakram Core mouse (which is ROG’s ultra low latency mouse), you will be able to display the global latency but also the impact of the mouse, the rendering and the screen. We look forward to seeing you very soon to find out more about these two Asus ROG components and NVIDIA’s “Reflex” technology. We will take advantage of this opportunity to present or talk to you about other Asus products that will make up this configuration, including the ROG Strix Scope RX keyboard. Share On
