NZXT use a 120mm fan on this PSU and it is a 7 blade model manufactured by ADDA. This is a brushless DC12V, 0.50A model with a maximum RPM of around 1200 and is marked AD1212UB-A70GL.

The first thing that we note about the inside of the Hale82 is that it is a Seasonic designed unit. Where appropriate components are given extra stability by white adhesive, wiring is tied to keep the unit tidy and high quality components are used throughout including Japanese capacitors which we will look at shortly. The Hale82 Series also includes several features which combine to protect the PC components in the event of a fault developing. First up is Under/Over-Voltage Protection which ensures that the 12, 5 and 3.3v outputs do not exceed a set level. Over-Current Protection works on the same outputs to ensure DC voltage remains within safe limits. Over-Temperature Protection ensures that any failure which increases heat will result in a shutdown. Over-Power protection kicks in when the unit senses output power is greater than 135% of maximum load. Short-Circuit protection is included too and powers off the PSU should any of the 3.3v, 5v or 12v rails short.

In terms of key features we have a unit which has a single +12v rail rated for 62A. Mixed with this high specification is an 80 Plus Bronze certification which means it has passed certification of 82% efficiency at 20% and 100% load with 50% load rated at over 85% (120V).

As noted earlier we have Japanese capacitors throughout and it is great to see that each is rated for 105°C rather than 85°C which can often be seen on value orientated models. The most notable being the larger Nippon components which are branded 400v/330µF.
