OCZ Vendetta, Freeze Paste

OCZ Vendetta, Freeze Paste

Packaging and Bundle

OCZ have their packaging pretty much perfect for the Vendetta cooler, the box has plenty of information on the sides, there is a window through which we can see the fan and finally the components inside are completely encased in protective foam. There is very little chance of this heatsink becoming damaged during transit.

Included with the fan (1200-2800rpm, 92mm, 34 dBA max) and heatsink are various smaller items which assist with the installation of the cooler. The more important items are the CPU brackets and fan cable which turns the standard smaller 4pin fan connector into a Molex plug.

As part of the extended range OCZ are also launching a thermal compound called Freeze,  we received a 3g sample of the product and have included performance figures later in this review. Freeze has a thermal resistance of 0.032 degrees C/W and a dielectric constant of 10.0 at 1KHz. The compound also has a thermal conductivity rating of 3.8w per Meter –oC. These features are all very impressive but likely mean very little to most people, and in our opinion the important factor when considering this paste is that OCZ claim no curing time is needed. This compound should perform flawlessly right out of the syringe.
