OCZ Vendetta, Freeze Paste

OCZ Vendetta, Freeze Paste

The Cooler

The Vendetta uses two types of metal,  The fins are aluminium and the heatpipes are copper. Assembled together the dimensions are L97 x W79 x H134mm.

Upon inspecting the heatsink two aspects of the fins immediately stand out, the first is that they are not square or rectangular and there are dimples visible on each. Both the shape and the dimples are designed to increase the cooling potential with the surface area being increased by one and air resistance by the other.

One of the most interesting aspects of the product is the area where the heatsink makes contact with the CPU. Instead of a solid block which most coolers use, the heatpipes on the Vendetta make direct contact with the CPU. In theory this is a great idea as it removes a layer from the transfer of heat but it does have one minor downside and that is there are small gaps between the heatpipes and heatsink where thermal compound pools.
