OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240GB SSD Review

OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240GB SSD (Solid State Drive) Review vs Crucial M4 (C400) and Intel 510 Series

PCMark 7

PCMark 7 was released recently and as with the previous versions of the software we can target specific components in our system, testing their performance.

Gaming Overall
Vertex 3
5.63 30.46 23.59 8.28 1.41 58.45 17.10 5453
Intel 510 5.47 27.79 23.39 8.21 1.40 51.82 16.49 5225
Crucial M4 5.44 26.84 22.28 8.23 1.40 47.47 16.11 5081

PCMark 7 features a set of storage tests which attempt to recreate real world performance scenarios such as importing images, converting media and scanning our drive for malware. Each offers different challenges for our drives but it is easy to see that there is one clear winner, regardless of the scenario and that is the Vertex 3 which exceeds the Marvell drives throughout the benchmark. It is also worth noting that the Intel 510 series drive was often in second place, falling behind the Crucial model in one test only.
