PBlaze6 6920 series: professional SSDs with crazy capacities!

Small tour in the world of SSDs for professional use. Indeed, MemBlaze has just announced its PBlaze6 6920 series. Models with very, very big capacities as we are talking about more than 15Tb!

PBlaze6 6920 series: pro SSD with amazing capacities!

MemBlaze PBlaze6 6920With this series, the brand offers models in 2.5″ U.2 format with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. These models are therefore compatible with the NVMe 1.4 protocol. Regarding the memory used, we have 3D eTLC consisting of 96 layers.

In short, this series comes with two distinct ranges, the D6920 and the D6926 offering different capacities. In the first case, the SSDs have a storage space of 3.84 TB, 7.68 TB and 15.36 TB. On the performance side, we are talking about sequential speeds ranging from 6.7 GB/s to 7 GB in reading. In writing, we are between 3.9 GB/s and 5.7 GB/s. The random performance rises very high since, depending on the model, we reach the 1.6 million IOPS in reading and 310k IOPS in writing.

In the case of the D6926, the capacities go up less high. Indeed, we have versions of 3.2 TB, 6.4 TB and 12.8 TB. As far as throughput is concerned, we have a slight improvement with 7 GB/s max in sequential reading against 5.8 GB/s in writing. Random performance is also better in writing: 480k IOPS max.

However, what will greatly distinguish the D6920 and D6926 is the endurance. The first series will be able to absorb one complete rewrite per day against three for the second and all this, for 5 years!

For the prices, it is better not to think about it. As for the availability, these are available for purchase, however, we imagine that you have to contact the brand directly if you want to equip yourself.
