Plextor M6e PCI Express SSD Review

4K QD32 Performance (CrystalDiskMark)

In this test a mechanical drive such as the Barracuda XT or VelociRaptor score around 2.0-1.5MB/s which gives us a baseline figure for performance.

Benchmark

The result in this test will go some way to showing how responsive a drive will be in Windows use as the operations performed are similar to the random reads and writes regularly performed by the OS and in terms of results Samsung continue to impress. In this test the 128GB M6e is reasonably competitive with the SATA and mSATA models however when we bump up the capacity to 512GB it frees up the potential of the interface/controller and we see the Plextor some way in the lead over "traditional" drives.
