Predator: Kovan Yang pushes HyperX RAM to 7156 MHz

In the world of overclocking, we learn today that a new world record for memory frequency has fallen. Indeed, the overclocker Kovan Yang takes the first place for the memory frequency. The Taiwanese clocker passed his Predator memory (signed HyperX) at 7156 MHz!

Predator: HyperX’s RAM goes to 7156 MHz in the hands of Kovan Yang!

Kingston HyperX PredatorAs we told you, the Taiwanese overclocker takes the first place in the world for memory frequency. To do this, we had to push a DDR4 memory kit to the frequency of 7156 MHz, madness. To get an idea, the fastest kit available on LDLC shows frequencies of 4800 MHz.

In short, to achieve such a result, the clocker used a very small motherboard since it was in mini-ITX format. As for the reference, we had a Z590i Unify, a model signed MSI. The CPU was a Core i9 11900KF (ES), without graphics. At the time of the validation, the latter was running at 1.49 GHz on two cores and two threads.

Regarding memory, Kovan Yang used a single stick of 8 GB of RAM. Of course, we find a frequency of 7156 MHz but extremely high timings. The validation shows latencies of 58 – 63 – 63 – 2. Still, liquid nitrogen has again flowed into the codecs since this is the type of cooling used here.

With the new Intel platforms released recently, we should see new records fall. This is quite normal with every new hardware release. Now we just need to know which barrier will be broken!
