RTX 3060: performance unveiled

We are a few hours away from the official launch of the RTX 3060 and a few precise leaks allow us to get a very clear idea of the performance of the new Nvidia card. A few days ago, we could see that the RTX 3060 was at the level of a 2070 Super on Ashes of The Singularity. But we had to keep in mind that this benchmark is still very favorable to the technologies implemented by Nvidia in its cards. When compared to synthetic benchmarks, the results are very similar to those of an RTX 2070 or an RTX 2060 SUPER.

The RTX 3060 tested by 3DMark

Thanks to its readings, Videocardz gives us a more precise lighting. The RTX 3060 scores 10284 points in Fire Strike Extreme, 5012 points in Fire Strike Ultra, 8757 points in Time Spy, 4111 points in Time Spy Extreme and 5072 points in Port Royal. With Overlay, the card gets 5073 points in the 1080p Extreme preset and 2832 points in the 8K optimized preset. RTX 3060 performances Now, if we look at its theoretical launch price (330€ including VAT), the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 is an interesting card compared to the RTX 2060 SUPER which was sold for around 400€ at the time. The newcomer offers a 12GB higher VRAM capacity compared to the 8GB of the 2060S and a much lower power consumption thanks to the GA106 GPU.

A good card…In the world before

The problem is that we won’t see the RTX 3060 at 330€ including tax… And everything leads us to believe that it will be even difficult to get copies under 500€. In these conditions, it is difficult to be enthusiastic for a card which, on paper, had a lot of assets.
