RX 6900 XT Legion: Lenovo’s card visible and it’s a brick!

Last March, we learned that Lenovo was developing AMD graphics cards with its own design. A first model was then visible with an RX 6900 XT Legion, a card whose design reminded us a lot of the RADEON VII. This morning, we have news of the latter since it has been photographed. So, what does this model actually look like? That’s what we’ll see!

Visually speaking, we find a design similar to what was teased by the brand. The fairing is very square and black. Similarly, the heatsink has three fans and at least two stacks of aluminum fins. Moreover, it is the thickness of the whole that gives a very massive aspect to this card. As a reminder, we expect a reference that occupies more than two slots.

This first photo also shows the power supply part of this model. It is therefore a question of a card requiring a pair of 8-pin PCIe connectors. Similarly, we can also see the “RADEON RX 6900 XT” logo on the edge. Remember that the latter will be illuminated by RGB diodes!

The last two pictures show some more details of the map and especially the backplate. For the time being, the backplate remains relatively basic with a Legion logo machined in the material.

On the other hand, what catches our attention is the back part of the card, at the level of the red “R” cube. Here, the finishing seems to us approximate with rather imprecise adjustments. There are visible gaps around the cube, and the same goes for the PCB. After that, we have to keep in mind that this is an engineering sample and that it is likely that the finish will be improved during the mass production.

However, one question still remains: who is this board intended for? OEM market, retail, pre-build of the brand? In short, a matter to be followed.
