Samsung to launch an Exynos 5nm SoC with AMD GPU

According to the latest indiscretions, the Korean giant Samsung could launch a new Exynos SoC specifically designed to run in smartphones and laptops. It could arrive in the second half of this year and it will have an AMD GPU integrated. This collaboration with AMD is not really a novelty, Samsung seeks to target essentially Apple and its M1 with this chip. samsung AMD SoC

A Samsung SoC in collaboration with AMD to counter Apple?

Initially (there are whispers in June), Samsung could release an Exynos SoC that competes with the A14 Bionic of Apple. As PC and laptop sales grow at a rapid pace, companies capable of developing their chips for smartphones are increasingly considering bringing their SoCs into the laptop world to compete with Intel and AMD. Qualcomm is also reportedly preparing a similar chip. However, it seems difficult to have the same chip for a Samsung Galaxy phone and a laptop. If Apple has installed its M1 chip in the latest iPad, this product has a much larger dissipation area than a smartphone. On the AMD side, it will be interesting to see what this foray into an ARM chip will yield. Remember that the Reds also have a license to produce this type of chip.
