TA 120 EX : a single tower heatsink in 120 mm at Thermalright !

After announcing a Frost Commander 140

in double tower, Thermalright offers a new heatsink. The model of the day has a single tower format in 120 mm. In short, it is the TA 120 EX of the brand !

TA 120 EX : a heatsink competing with the NH-U12S ?

Thermalright TA 120 EX

With this new reference, the brand offers us a rather compact model. Moreover, the dimensions are close to a NH-U12S signed Noctua. In fact, we will have a ventirad, a little less high: 154 mm against 158 mm for the Austrian firm. Otherwise, the depth and width remain the same: 125 (W) x 45 (D) mm.

Like Noctua, Thermalright provides its product with five heat pipes of 6 mm in nickel-plated copper. These are joined at the level of a copper base also nickel-plated. Here, no direct touch which limits the imperfections at the base. Otherwise, the radiator has 52 aluminum fins of 0.4 mm thick spaced 1.6 mm apart.

On the ventilation side, the brand opts for a 12 cm TL-C12 Pro-G fan. Of course, it benefits from a PWM power supply and will operate up to 1850 RPM at full speed. At full speed, this model will generate an airflow of 82 CFM and a static pressure of 2.1 mmH2O.

For mounting, nothing extraordinary since this model is compatible with consumer platforms. This includes AM4 and LGA-1100/1200 sockets in addition to LGA-2000 for high-end Intel platforms.

Currently, the brand has not yet communicated its selling price.

This way to the Thermalright datasheet !
