The AMD B550 chipset is (at last) pointing the tip of its nose?

The AMD B550 chipset is (at last) pointing the tip of its nose?

Decidedly, in spite of this period of confinement, the “announcements” concerning the next generations of CPUs/Motherboards continue. On the blue side, we know that the Comet Lake-S generation and the Z490 chipset will arrive in the coming weeks. The only question is still the uncertainty of inventory and availability on the day of the official launch. And on the red side, after the persistent rumors of the arrival of Ryzen 3s built on Zen 2, it would finally be the availability of the B550 chipset that would be topical.

Chipset B550 chez AMDAccording to our colleagues at VideoCardz, it should be announced May 21st for an official launch on June 16th. For several months, we had been wondering where the B550 chipset was which was supposed to offer the entry level of the X570. Fortunately for us, the B450 chipset is compatible with the new generation of Ryzen. This one should bring a lot of new features, including support for PCIe 4.0. On our side, we also have a lot of expectations regarding memory overclocking which should be better than on the B450.

The next few weeks are likely to be rich in announcements from both Intel and AMD. One thing is for sure, we are ready to welcome them in the lab and share our impressions on these new components!
