The next Core i9-12900K Alder Lake very competitive?

As we normally get closer to the arrival of the next Intel processors, some performance measurements of the top of the range, the Core i9-12900K, have been leaked. The results shared by OneRaichu show performance under Cinebench R20. Let’s not beat around the bush, if these numbers are true, this benchmark is going to hurt.

The future i9-12900K 25% ahead of the 5950X?

The use of Cinebench R20 allowed Wccftech to compare this new i9 to Intel and AMD processors currently on the market. The Core i9-12900K that was tested would be a QS ‘Qualification Sample’ chip. Therefore, the performance listed here may still change with firmware updates as well as various platform optimizations. The Core i9 in question had a liquid cooler but was not overclocked. It is possible that this CPU comes from sample sales that we could spot on the Chinese market… i9-12900k QS CPU For the record, the arrival of Alder Lake marks a real break at Intel. This i9-12900K will have 8 Golden Cove cores and 8 Gracemont cores for a total of 16 cores (8+8) and 24 threads (16+8). Going back to the leaked Cinebench R20 benchmarks, the Intel Core i9-12900K 16 Core processor scores over 810 points in single core and over 11,600 points in multi-core tests. There is some consistency with the initial information we gave you a week ago. With all the usual precautions once again on this leak, the new i9 would beat the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X by 25% in single-core tests and by 11% in multi-core tests. Since we’re on a QS copy, it’s not impossible that the final version’s numbers are even better. i9-12900k Cinebench R20
