The RTX 3070 vs GeForce RTX 2080 Ti vs GeForce RTX 2070

The RTX 3070 vs GeForce RTX 2080 Ti vs GeForce RTX 2070

It has been known for a few hours that the launch of the RTX 3070 has been postponed to October 29. Officially this decision of Nvidia would be made to have more stock at launch and avoid the chaotic situation of the RTX 3080. It is also known that a few hours earlier AMD will have announced its graphics cards based on the RDNA2 architecture…Probably a simple coincidence of calendar.

In the meantime, like all the cards in the xx70 chameleon, this one potentially has to represent the best price/performance ratio in the range, as was the case until recently with the RTX 2070. However, we’ll pay attention to the RTX 3060Ti, whose programmed launch is a bit disturbing…

The RTX 3070: the ideal board for the 1440P?

Nevertheless, we now have the opportunity to get a first idea of the potential of this future card, making its big sister the RTX 2070 and the former queen the RTX 2080Ti. For 519 euros, the Founder Edition should be a beast. Indeed, Nvidia ensures superior performance, or similar in the worst case scenario, compared to the company’s previous high-end GPU, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti . A card that a few weeks ago was more than twice the price of this new model.RTX 3070 performances

As expected, in “normal” games, the performances of the 3 tested cards will be very similar. Nvidia is therefore seeking to highlight the versions of the games that support DLSS or RayTracing technologies. And it is obvious that in these cases, the new card takes full advantage of the use of a new generation of Tensor and RT cores.

In almost all games in the test, the RTX 3070 is running at 1440p. Future driver evolutions will further improve these results.
