The RTX 3080 SUPER and RTX 3070 SUPER are being discussed again

The RTX 3080Ti and 3060 are coming, the RTX 3080 Super and 3070 Super are getting ready?

NVIDIA is currently focusing on two cards: the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3060. They should logically make their debut at the end of January, and we expect NVIDIA to present these two new cards at the next press conference at CES, normally scheduled for 12 January. We have already given a lot of information about these upcoming cards, so we won’t go back over them. On the other hand, new rumors from the Kopite twito say that NVIDIA is seriously considering offering a refresh to its 3070 and 3080. Kopite makes it clear that the name “Super” has not yet been established. On our side, we remind you that Nvidia had a lot of fun with her roadmap for Ampere. The company has already cancelled many references that had been appearing on the roadmaps on the documents of the biggest brands for many weeks. However, a few weeks ago, Korean “industrial” sources were already talking about the start of the Ampere Refresh program with a contract awarded to Samsung.

A refresh of the range in spring 2021?

The RTX 3070 SUPER had already appeared in the rumor mill in the second half of last year. For our leaker, this new 3070 could be built around a new GPU, the GA103. Needless to say that it is difficult for us to sound out our sources which are still “digesting” the end of year festivities. Finally, concerning the 3080 Super, this would only be an update of the current model with more VRAM. We will keep you informed of the evolution of this rumor, notably by “reactivating” our contacts in the coming hours. In the meantime, we are reproducing here the Videocardz table which has the merit of allowing you to visualize how the future Ampere range would fit in with these new references.
