Three Quality Levels for RTX 3000 GPUs

Three Quality Levels for RTX 3000 GPUs

If you’re a GPU enthusiast and change graphics cards regularly, you know that every card is significantly different. Some have better overclocking potential. Our colleagues at HKEPC remind us that the same will be true for the next RTX 3000. A quality chip can operate at a lower voltage and temperature and still have a higher boost frequency. Conversely, other chips will require more voltage and therefore higher temperatures, which will result in a lower boost frequency.
Don’t worry, all the models keep at least the frequencies announced by the manufacturer.

Our colleagues believe that three levels of quality can be found within the chips: Bin 0 (30%) which is the most common, Bin 1 (60%) which represents the good chips and finally Bin 2 with the best chips (10%). As this new chip is in the early stages of production, we should initially have models with a Bin 0, which will improve as production progresses. This is one reason why “high-end” cards such as the Matrix at Asus and the “Lightning” from MSI are not available at the launch of a new architecture.
