Toxic Extreme Edition: Sapphire’s RX 6900 XT gets even madder!

Toxic Extreme Edition: Sapphire’s RX 6900 XT gets even madder!

Last February

, we learned that the RX 6900 XT Toxic from Sapphire was coming to the market. This time, the brand partner of AMD, announces an even more energetic version, the Toxic Extreme Edition. A model based on the Navi21 XTXH GPU, a GPU that has undergone an even more drastic selection. The goal is to select GPUs capable of climbing even higher in frequency!

Toxic Extreme Edition: a very angry Sapphire graphics card!

RX 6900 XT Toxic Extreme Edition With this new version, we don’t notice any design changes. The card is still as massive as ever, although it occupies 2.5 slots. However, this aspect is quickly compensated by the presence of an AIO type cooling with a 360 mm radiator. We find, roughly speaking, a similar footprint to that of the RTX 3090 KingPin Edition

However, what will mainly change are the operating frequencies, which are going to jump forward. We go from 2365 MHz on the first version to 2375 MHz here. You will say to us: ” yeah, for 10 MHz… ok, ok, what?”. However, via the Toxic Boost, the card will be able to go up to 2730 MHz, which is 480 MHz more than a reference card! On the other hand, the memory frequency has not been touched.

As far as the connectivity is concerned, we don’t notice any change. This Extreme version has three DisplayPort outputs and an HDMI connector. The same goes for the power supply with two 8-pin PCIe coupled with a 6-pin PCIe.

Apparently, the availability would already be effective since this model is announced as being available at partner retailers of the brand. For the price no idea about it, but keep in mind that the “basic” version was displayed at 1750 € on Top Achat.

Here is Sapphire’s datasheet!
