Waterforce X: Gigabyte’s AIO watercooling LGA-1700 compatible!

Waterforce X: Gigabyte’s AIO watercooling LGA-1700 compatible!

Last time, we saw that Noctua was working to make its heatsinks compatible with the LGA-1700 socket. As a reminder, this socket corresponds to the new platform of Intel: Alder Lake-S and will be larger than the current LGA-1200/11X0. However, the Austrian brand is not the only one to work on this compatibility. Gigabyte is also working on it with its AIO Waterforce X which are now compatible!

Waterforce X: Alder Lake-S compatible kits from Gigabyte!

Aorus WaterForce X seriesAs a reminder, the next generation of Intel processors to be released will be the Alder Lake-S, a series that will inaugurate a new socket. The socket in question is the famous LGA-1700, which will have larger dimensions than the current model. Indeed, the latter will be 7.5 mm wider, which will cause compatibility problems with current mounting systems. Fortunately, manufacturers are working to make their products compatible with this new platform.

This is the case of Gigabyte which recently updated the technical specifications of its watercooling systems. The operation took place on the sly, and to be sure, the best way is to go directly to the brand’s website. Be careful though, this only concerns the Waterforce X available in 240 mm, 280 mm and 360 mm. The older models, the Aorus Liquid Cooler are not compatible (not yet?).

Now the question is how to proceed for those who already own this type of cooling system. Namely, what will be the process to get the new mounting system. In our opinion, we will have to wait until the launch of the motherboards to have an official announcement.
