With the Ryzen 9 5900HX AMD knocks out the competition

PassMark has updated its ranking of the most powerful portable processors on the market, and the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX wins the race by a wide margin. Thanks to its 8 cores and 16 threads, the new AMD Zen 3 CPU takes full advantage of its 7nm engraving. This allows it to operate with a base frequency of 3.3Ghz and to be able to go up to 4.70 GHz. Of course, in the ranking of this benchmark, the power speaks for itself and gives a score of 24039 points. In fact, it is even the first portable processor to break the 20,000 point barrier. This CPU is starting to be seen everywhere on high-end laptops of major brands. As you may recall, a few days ago Asus presented its new range where the latest AMD CPU is used extensively. We now know that these same brands will be able to combine the largest AMD CPUs with the largest RTX 30 series. AMD is not going to stop there since the Ryzen 9 5980HX will hit even harder. This processor will be intended for the most “extreme” of power since it should notably run at 100Mhz better than the Ryzen 9 5900HX. You will find below a table edited by Videocardz which gives you an idea of the performances of the different CPUs under PassMark. The results are edifying for AMD’s latest Ryzen 9.
