X570S and Ryzen 5000 XT motherboards for 2021?

X570S and Ryzen 5000 XT motherboards for 2021?

The leak of this reference X570S had aroused several fantasies in connection with the refresh of the AMD Ryzen range. In reality, this X570S would only be a “fanless” version of the high-end chipset from AMD. But this does not condemn the arrival of new Ryzen 5000 XT processors.

X570S: a simple “fanless” evolution of the chipset.

The confirmation comes from MSI who is already working on a total of 8 new boards based on the X570S chipset listed below:

  • MEG X570S ACE MAX
  • MEG X570S UNIFY-X MAX
  • MPG X570S GAMING CARBON MAX WIFI
  • MPG X570S GAMING EDGE MAX WIFI
  • MAG X570S TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI
  • MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX
  • X570S PRO-MAX WIFI
  • X570S-A PRO MAX

Our friends at Wccftech were able to get hold of photos of the upcoming MSI MPG X570S Gaming Carbon Max WiFi. Beyond the adoption of a passive system for the chipset, the card seems to have been completely redesigned.

The current MSI X570 Carbon…

And the future X570S Carbon…

A last lap for the AM4… With new CPUs?

This refresh seems to be quite important since at MSI, like others, we are not content with just updating the card family but to recompose the range. A strategy that could prepare the arrival of new CPUs to occupy the field at the end of the year. If a Zen3+ range seems less and less credible, the latest rumors tell us about “XT” CPUs (like for the 3000 range).

Towards Ryzen 5000 XT ?

These new CPUs could take advantage of a better mastered process. AMD could therefore increase clock speeds and optimize TDP. But don’t expect to see any IPC increase since they will be based on the same Zen 3 cores. This is only a rumor for the moment but we have to remember that the previous Ryzen 3000 Refresh was announced and disclosed a few days before its launch. As you know, AMD will be speaking in a few days for the opening of Computex: things will be clear then.
