G.Skill go for a traditional plastic packet on their triple channel Ripjaws kit and in with the modules is a cardboard information leaflet.

Like Crucial G.Skill use a black PCB for their modules and add to them a set of blue aluminium heat spreaders with raised fins which should offer better cooling than standard height modules. Attached to each side are branding stickers and then on top of one we have an information sticker.

This sticker tells us that the kit contains 3x 4GB modules, operates at DDR3-1600, is XMP compatible and runs at 8-8-8-24 with a voltage of 1.6v. We also get a little bit of extra information, that being a manufacture date which in this case is 2011-May.

We also wanted to note something which won’t immediately be obvious, that being the fact that these modules have flat sections at the side of the fins rather than fins all the way across. These flat sections make it easier to push the modules firmly into our motherboard slots than sticks with fins across the entire length.
