OCC_FrTeam January 15, 2021 News With AMD’s return to the processor market, we saw that the price of motherboards was also skyrocketing. You should know that things are not going to get any better with the arrival of the Z590 models. Our colleagues from VideoCardz we share the price of these models and believe us, it’s cold. MSI and Asus: cards at over $1000! Until now, seeing motherboards over $1000 was relatively rare. In fact, the latest model to date was the X570 Aqua signed ASRock, a limited edition card with socket and watercooling chipset... and it was advertised at $999. So what does it say for this new generation? At MSI, there is only one model to flirt with this symbolic €1000 bar: the Z590 Godlike. It’s roughly the spearhead of the brand, which arrives with a very attractive new dress and 20 power supply stages delivering 90A for the CPU. For the rest, prices start at around €190 for a “first price” Z590 card and go up to €480 for top-of-the-range models. At Asus, the shower will be even colder as the Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial is more than €1500! Yes, you have read correctly, more than 1500 € the motherboard !!! Besides, the rest is not much more engaging with a passive Maximus XIII Extreme approaching €1000. In the end, to access the manufacturer’s famous ROG range, you’ll have to swipe a nice 500 € note. At this price, you can then buy a ROG Hero or Apex for overclocking fans. Finally, the “basic” Asus cards are available from 190 €. It hurts, especially when you go back a few years where you could afford a Z chipset for a little over a hundred euros… Now you just have to hope that, unlike graphics cards, there is stock. Share On
